fair enough but i can and hav fished that swim and distance in the past with that gear. 2.75lb chub outcast rods...indestructable!!! shimano longcast brimmed with 15lb daiwa sensor clear and 3oz korda tournament leads it is easily possible. can hit that duck feeding platform a foot off from the swim opposite with that gear not trying to be big headed just dont want to be made to look like a mug wen im not |

ive fished with piken and crafty at furzton and see them both get so close to that island from the hotel bank so with the gear they use it can be done not only were they able to get there bait there but was spodding their bait to the same spot with ease |

like carpcatcher said you dont rly get any trouble at all ive had one incident involving youths trying to get away with my spod and marker rods from the side of my bivvy but 3 of us with banksticks and mallets soon scared em away, nothing to worry about down there mate |

Reply with quote | #394 | I can safely say Furzton isnt easy. I read all about the boys doing well fishing there but Im not that good and have blanked on many occasions. I think need to get some spodding kit for next year as it seems the way to go. As for being safe, never had any trouble and I've taking my son fishing over night many times. |

Reply with quote | #395 | Fished Furzton for the first time on Sunday, had the lake pretty much to myself and was quite surprised how nice a lake it is to fish.
I fished the main part of the lake with the Hotel behind me and didn't get a touch but I guess that is carping on a new water in November! The wind was in my face which i wouldn't usually opt for in winter but it felt quite warm for November so I put a bit of bait out but couldn't get a reaction. Had 3 rods out, one on a zig under my sloppy spod and 2 on the bottom that I varied the range from 10-100 yards but not a sniff, fished from 12 til dark.
Will continue to fish it through the winter and will find the fish at some point.
If anyone else is fishing it and has any info would be good to here it as I am always happy to swap catch results even if they are poor at the moment. __________________ If it bleeps hit it - If it doesn't think about it... |
